custom wooden families
These hand painted wooden families have been a lot of fun to paint and have been well received. They make excellent shower gifts, mothers or fathers day presents, birthday or just-because gifts. I love that they can be customized to suit your family. Most store bought dolls do not represent our multi cultural families so these are a nice option to personalize your children’s toys. Here are a few more photos of recent dolls.

Photo cards
I love taking photos. Etsy lets me play at being a photo shoot “designer” (is that what they are called?) and set up fun ways to display my product. Luckily I have beautiful blue dining room walls and most of my product shots take place in there.
Recently I have had inquires about these photos, especially the cupcake related ones, so I have decided to start selling cards featuring some of my favourite pictures. I am getting high quality reprints – none of this colour copying nonsense – and adhering them to strathmore deckle – edged cards. Guess what? They look great! So now I present unique and fun photo cards by lovemonkey! Enjoy!

Wooden Families
After months of watching my son (who is now 2, nearly 3) play with these wooden dolls, I decided to venture into painting them for other families. Besides, what is better than knowing your child is using his/her imagination with non toxic, interactive toys? These families can be custom made to suit any families, just send me a note and I would be happy to make them for you. I use non toxic paints and varnish and put a lot of love and care into these little guys and gals. I hope your little ones would have lots of fun playing with them. Please visit my flickr page for more photos and my etsy store for buying information.

I’m here!
Hello everyone! It finally happened! I got a website up and running (well, with a lot of help from a very patient webdesigner). You should check it out…http://www.sweetbabycakes.ca- It also incorporates my personal baking business (sweetbabycakes) as well as this part of lovemonkey. This will encourage me to make more time for this blog to update you on my art making!

Hello!
A big welcome to all of you who found me through Kids Craft Weekly! I am honoured to have been a featured blog. I have to admit, I kind of forgot I asked to be added but am pleased I did. I have been really enjoying the newsletters. As an art teacher, I find the ideas presented very useful. Thank you for featuring me… I wish this blog was more exciting. As you can see, it is in a state of disorder. My older blog, lovemonkey, just wasn’t working the way I wanted. I wanted this blog to be updated with new products, announcements and all the exciting things happening in the lovemonkey world. However, I find all those exciting things are what are keeping me from updating more often. Don’t fear, though. After the Christmas shows settle down, I can devote more time to this. And, I will hopefully have exciting news to report early in the New Year.
In the meantime, make yourself at home. Check out the old stuff and maybe the shop…introduce yourself and your blog, if you have one. Thanks for visiting!

To shop for Lovemonkey goods, please visit my etsy shop at www.lovemonkey.etsy.com. If you have never used etsy, please feel free to email me any questions (lovemonkeydesign@yahoo.ca). It is a really cool internet tool, sort of an ebay for crafters. Alright, I will be back with photos and more news!
